The pupose of this team is to fulfill what James 1:27 calls true religion, to look after the needs of widows and orphans.
In Acts 6:3 the apostles asked the church to find men who were filled with the Spirit to facilitate the food distribution to the widows of the church. We too would like to coordinate a team of Spirit filled believers to keep in touch with the widows and shut-ins from our church family.
Our goal is to enhance our sense of community and to help in areas where we can. There are several ways that you can be a part of this team, as we all work together the burden will not be too great on any one person.

The Call Team
The duties of the Call Team are to make contact on a weekly basis (or as needed) with individuals as assigned by the coordinator and the Pastor of Care. This contact may be by phone, e-mail or personal visit.
If there are needs that we can be a part of meeting, you would contact the coordinator, who in turn would contact the appropriate person(s) on the Service Team to see that the need is met.
We are asking for people to serve on the Call Team for a three month period.

These are people who wish to make themselves available on an "on-call" basis to perform services according to their talents and giftings.
For example, if someone on the Call Team alerts us that one of the ladies or gentlemen has a leaky faucet or toilet, our coordinator would look down the list to find someone who has signed up to do minor plumbing repairs.
Or if someone was in need of transportation to an appointment, our coordinator will look for someone who has volunteered to drive, and check to see if they are available on that particular day ...
The idea is for us to be able to do what God has gifted us to do for the body of Christ with the time that we have available.
Types of services that may be needed include:
- cleaning / housework
- cooking occasional meal
- shopping
- prayer
- transportaion
- visitation
- hospital visitation
- painting
- yard work
- wash cars
- minor electrical repairs
- minor plumbing repairs
- minor car repairs
- general handyman repairs
Those who sign up for the Service Team can indicate which day(s) of the week and what time of day they might be available.
