Welcome to Faith Family Christian Center

A place where you can truly come as you are and be loved.

Whether you are investigating the claims of Christianity or you already have a strong and vital relationship with Jesus Christ, Faith Family is a place you can call home. We welcome a casual atmosphere where people are at home in a T-shirt and jeans or wearing their "Sunday go to meeting" best.

We believe that Jesus Christ has provided a way for people to live with peace and hope, even in a world where there seems to be neither . . . We would love to help you experience the hope that only He can give.

1 Kings 4:20

The people of Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore; they ate, they drank and they were happy.

In the book of Genesis we read how God spoke to a man named Abram and told him to leave his home in Ur and travel to a land that the LORD would show him. When Abram finally arrived in that land a few years later, the LORD directed him to stand on a high hill and look as far as he could see in all four directions of the compass. The LORD said to Abram, wherever you walk I will give you the land for your inheritance – for you and your children. God told Abram who had no children that he was going to the father of a great nation – that he would have children as numerous as the sand on the seashore and the stars in the heavens. God said to Abraham I am making a covenant with you that is going to be passed down through the generations of your family. Through your family all the nations of the earth are going to be blessed.

Fast forward to the book of Exodus. Abraham’s descendants are living in Egypt instead of Canaan. They were in bondage as slaves. But God calls a man named Moses to do something about that – God said to Moses I want you to go down to Egypt and tell Pharaoh to let my people go. You are going to lead them back to the land of Canaan that I have promised to their father Abraham. It is a land that flows with milk and honey. They are going to experience the good life in all of its fullness.

1 Kings 4:20 lets us know that God keeps his word! He had made a covenant with the patriarchs – he gave to them promises of prosperity and peace . . . and now in the early years of Solomon’s reign as king the people were experiencing everything that God had promised. History tells us that during the years of Solomon’s reign Israel expanded its borders to include the largest amount of geographical area they were ever able to call their own. They had everything they needed – they were happy. God keeps covenant!

However, covenants come with conditions. The Lord reminded Solomon of that in the dream that he gave to him in chapter 3.

1 Kings 3:14

And if you walk in my ways and obey my statutes and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life."

Solomon started out so very well. Israel was living in the fulness of the blessing of the Lord. How long did that last? Why didn’t it last? . . . something to think about as we continue to read the story of the man who has been called “the wisest fool who ever lived” . . .

What does it mean to us today that God keeps covenant?
