Welcome to Faith Family Christian Center

A place where you can truly come as you are and be loved.

Whether you are investigating the claims of Christianity or you already have a strong and vital relationship with Jesus Christ, Faith Family is a place you can call home. We welcome a casual atmosphere where people are at home in a T-shirt and jeans or wearing their "Sunday go to meeting" best.

We believe that Jesus Christ has provided a way for people to live with peace and hope, even in a world where there seems to be neither . . . We would love to help you experience the hope that only He can give.

Come join us this weekend at Faith Family Christian Center

Isaiah 33:2

O Lord, be gracious to us;

we long for you.

Be our strength every morning,

our salvation in time of distress.

Those are the words of prayer offered by a small group of people inside the city of Jerusalem after it had been put under siege by Sennacherib and the Assyrian army. The Assyrians had taken city after city – in fact, they had wiped out the ten northern tribes of Israel, and it appeared that Judah was next. King Hezekiah had tried to buy them off by giving them all the gold in the temple, but the Assyrians continued to press towards wiping them out.

But King Hezekiah and some people prayed and put their trust in God. And because of their faith the Lord said I will arise and be exalted. We read in 2 Kings 19 how God sent and angel through the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 men in one night! It was a miracle that exalted the name of the Lord far and wide.

Isaiah wrote

Isaiah 33:6

He will be the sure foundation for your times,

a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge;

the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.

We live in a time when there are not a whole lot of things that are sure. There are a lot of reasons from the natural point of view to be very insecure. But Isaiah says there is a way to live with a sense of security. There is a way to live with inner peace though the circumstances around us strike fear in the hearts of even the bravest of men. Isaiah said there is a treasure of salvation and knowledge available to those who have the key. And that key is the fear of the Lord – the awe and respect of God that recognizes he is to be worshiped, trusted, served and obeyed. The fear of the Lord leads to godly living, and godly living leads to a place of security in every circumstance. Does that mean if I trust God I will never have a problem? No. But it does mean that I will never have a problem that does not have a solution and redeeming purpose in my life. (See Romans 8:28-29)

The words to the song written by Tommy Walker that we have been singing quite often lately fill my mind this morning . . .

I Will Not Be Shaken

Verse 1

He is my rock my shield my fortress

He's my salvation and my strength

The cords of death they were surrounding me

But He heard my cry for help

Verse 2

He is my refuge my high tower

He's my deliverer so strong

The snares of death they were confronting me

But He heard my cry for help

Chorus 1

So I'll stand and trust

I'll stand in faith

I will not be shaken

(BRIDGE)

Our God will not be moved

Our God will never change

Our God will reign forevermore
