The concept of Women's Ministries was birthed from the Scripture in Titus 2:3-5
"3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."( NIV)
Women's Ministry centers on meeting the spiritual needs of women and helping them to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. The word ministry comes from the Greek word 'diakoneo' literally meaning "to serve." Women's Ministry exists to serve women and to teach women how to minister to others. It is action based and focuses on living a Godly life with guidance from the Bible. Our primary goal is to assemble the women of the church to share time growing in their spiritual knowledge and love of God, family, and community.
Mary Martha Ladies
Gaining wisdom and understanding through God's Word
and applying it to our lives to serve others with love and compassion.
The primary purpose of this organization is to educate and inspire women in the mission of God and to connect women with outreach opportunities inside and outside the walls of our church. We are a group of volunteer women, of all ages, who are dedicated to fulfilling the purpose of Jesus Christ through service, prayer, providing encouragement, gaining spiritual growth, and involvement in community outreach.
The Mary Martha activities include Bible studies and book review, prayer needs, encouraging the sick and disabled, providing meals for those in crisis and for funeral receptions, distributing food baskets at holidays, cleaning the church sanctuary, and special events. Funds for many of their services are raised through garage sales, bake sales, bazaars, and raffling home made quilts and other items.
